bowel recection

i am brand new to this forum.i suffer from adhesions(14 yrs.) resulting from a miss diagnosed burst
appendix. i have had four surgeries so far and am now sheduled for my fifth.i have never had a bowel recection .i will be having my first recection (4-6inches) on my upcoming surgery.i was wondering if anybody is in the same boat that i am in and could tell me if there is much difference between a lissis for adhesions verses a bowel recection as far as hospital procedeurs and recovery.any help would be appreciated.

I had a resection Aug '06.  I'm a 46 year old female.  I had to have the last half of my colon removed.  I was in the hospital for 5 days post surgery.  Back at work (desk job) in 5 weeks but it took almost a year to totally get over it.  It took awhile to figure out what I can eat, what are the sounds and gurgles if feel and hear.  And just feeling normal.  I feel better then I have in years though.  I feel like I'm 40 instead of 80 like I did before.  I like remission....
