crohns and pregnancy and imuran

hi all, i havent been around here in almost 2 years, but im back now. well i just found out that im pregnant and i am a little scared. i have been really sick with a crohns flare the past few months. i spent the entire month of july in the hospital on TPN and iv steroids and pain medicine. they were one day away from removing my entire colon but my church came in and prayed for me and my numbers started turning around so i didnt have to get that done. right now im worried about all of my medicines hurting the baby. im on Prednisone, Humira, Azathioprine(Imuran),  and Asacol. right now im doing pretty good so i dont want to chance anything and just stop taking it, but im afraid of what all that could do to the baby. and my gi dr is out of town for a week so he cant tell me what to do. have any of you been pregnant while dealing with a crohns flare? or on any of these meds? any help is greatly appreciated!!

Sorry you have not been felling well. I would call you ob gyn Dr and then GI Dr prednisone, humira, and asacol does not seem to harm the baby and if Dr agree the seem to be OK while pregnant but your ob Dr and GI will tell you for sure but imuran should not be taken while pregnant. Most women while pregnant fell better during this time they tend to go in to remission ans not have any symptoms or flares while pregnant.Good Luck.
