CROHN'S DISEASE / ULCERATIVE COLITIS COMMUNITY
fistual for 30 yrs.

fistual for 30 yrs.

I have had a rectal fistula for 30 yrs. with a ceton wire in place for 30 yrs. also. I have recently been to a rectal surgeon and he told me about a procedure called ACell. It is a mixture with pigs bladder and some other things to try and reguvinate the tissue for closer. He didn't have any literature and when I look it up on the internet there is not a lot of info. or at least to make a decision to do the procedure. I have contacted the co. and they tell me to ask the physician in which I did and he was vague. Has anyone ever had this done? What are the side effects? How safe is this procedure? What are the risks and benefits? What is the statistics of failure?? If someone could help me out with this I would sure appreciate it. This sounds like a miracle but I am just sceptacle and nervous because I have 11 surgeries to get even to this point yrs. ago. I don't want to open pandoras box. Thank you, Julie
