I have had Crohn's for 37 yrs and never had elevated liver enzymes. I am on 12.5mg methotrexate injections weekly (6 yrs) and have full blood tests each month, including LFT's and they have never been elevated. Right side abdominal pain is indicative of Crohn's - it often starts around the terminal ileum (which is why it was called regional ilietis) which is next to the appendix
I have Crohns (14 years) and would consider my an educated patient. The only time I would think elevated liver enzmyes connected with Crohns would be due to Meds. Alchohol is one of the top reasons for elvated liver enzymes. Are you a drinker? that would be a cause. Taking certain meds OTC or not, especially in high doses could cause this as well. If you are taking to much of something could cause this as well. If you are on meds, I would make sure to drink plenty of water with them and try spacing them out if allowed. I think you should seek further causes from you Doctor and ask what that means for you and what you can do to lower the enzymes. Again I am just a patient and this stuff is my understanding with my own experience. good luck to you, take care
The elevated liver enzymes could be due to prescribed medication. I inject methotrexate weekly, and this can have a significant effect on the liver. I have monthly blood tests, inluding liver panel, and fortunately, my LFT's are within normal range.
