long solid string in my bowel

Just wondering if I caught something from my new puppy.  Never have had a long solid string that i have had to literally pull out of my anus.  I have seen similar things in dogs, but never my own.

Well it is very possible that you have a tapeworm, threadworms or some other type of parasite.  I am pretty sure you will want to visit your physician and take some medications to rid yourself of them. Rarely, these types of parasitic infections will cause other more serious complications, so it's not really something you want to ignore.  Your doctor will want to take a stool sample in this case.  
I'm guessing most likely you got it from undercooked meat or fish - not the puppy.
