Hi, my 18 yr old daughter has been having off and on pain, sometimes excruciating, mostly under her breast bones and down the center of her abdomen. She is lactose
intolerant and can't eat meat. She always gets stomache pain from it.Over ten years ago she was tested for Chrones disease and it was ilimimated. Yesterday she found red blood when on the tilet paper when she pooped. And later she passes just a blood clot
room but we can't afford it. I have a discount program and have to wait until tomorrow to call and find out what it covers. I know she wil most likely need to go through a barrage of tests, right? What do you think?Thank you for your help.We are quite frazzled.
I was diagnosed with Chron's Disease after having horrible pains in my abdomen. At first I was told it was my gall bladder, so I had it removed, but I still had the same pains after it came out. I had blood and mucus in my stool, and would go between 8-10 times a day. Sometimes when i would take a poop, it would just be mucus that came out. I had a colonoscopy, and they though is was just irritable bowel syndrome. I decided to go to a diferent GI, and thats when I was sent for an endoscopy. They took some biopsies and wanted me to go for a "small bowel series." For that you drink a barium
passes through the intestines. Since that showed consistant with Chrons Disease, they gave me a Prometheus Blood Test. Before i had the results for the blood test, I had severe abdominal pains and was sent for a cat scan. At that point, they noticed I definately had Chrons Disease, and a 7 inch stricture where my small intestine joins the colon. I have a serious case of Chrons disease, however now am on the proper meds, so i am feeling much better. I am just starting to get joint pains, and am on my way to a rheumatologist, so will see how it goes from there. For your daughters sake, I hope you find out what is wrong with her and hopefully there is an easy cure. I believe they have now found a gene that is linked to Chron's Disease, and if you dont have the gene, you wont get Chron's Disease, but I am not 100% sure. Good luck!
