Hi!
Well, if you have had ulcerative colitis for 8 years, then right side abdominal pain, rectal pressure and soft stool can be taken as a flare if the symptom persist for a few days. On and off pain can also be due to gas, indigestion and food intolerance. Right side abdominal pain should also be investigated for appendicitis. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
