Donald Trump Would Not Rip Up The Iran Deal

He would "police" the agreement instead.

Unlike most of his fellow rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, real estate mogul Donald Trump would not rescind President Barack Obama's nuclear deal with Iran.

"I've heard a lot of people say, 'We're going to rip up the deal.' It's very tough to do when you say, 'Rip up a deal,'" Trump said Sunday on NBC's "Meet The Press."

Instead, the businessman who is currently leading GOP polls in the race for the White House promised to "police" Iran to make sure the country doesn't break the terms of the agreement.

"You know, I've taken over some bad contracts. I buy contracts where people screwed up and they have bad contracts," he said. "But I'm really good at looking at a contract and finding things within a contract that, even if they're bad, I would police that contract so tough that they don't have a chance. As bad as the contract is, I will be so tough on that contract."

Every Republican presidential candidate except Jeb Bush has promised to rip up the deal on the first day of their presidency. Trump argued that it would be unrealistic to do so because it would be hard to recoup the estimated $150 billion windfall Iran would gain after the lifting of sanctions.

"And the problem is by the time I got in there, they will have already received the $150 billion," he said. "Do you know if the deal gets rejected they still get the money? Which is something I found out a week ago. I couldn't believe it. If the deal gets rejected, they still get all of this money. Iran is going to be unbelievably powerful and unbelievably rich."

I just hope that the country doesn't get burned again, with the same ole' establishment b/s we all sit here and complain about, post election.

That's all we discuss here... how upset we are that our elected officials don't do what we'd like them to do. They make promises, then throw us to the wolves.

That said, Trump might do the EXACT same thing, but my point is, why not give a non-establishment person a chance? How much can it REALLY hurt us? Surely it cannot hurt us any more than Obama has hurt us, over the past 8 years.

Don't get me wrong... Cruz would be an excellent choice, but we'd once again have an establishment, career politician in the WH.

Reagan wasn't establishment, and look what he gave us? Years of prosperity, and arguably, some of the greatest years this country has ever seen.

Some will argue otherwise, i feel sure, but Reagan was a GOOD president.

I say give the guy a shot.

Here's what I expect in the very near future.  Trump will start making promises that he cannot keep.  Politicians do it all the time.  "Read my lips.  NO NEW TAXES."

Not saying vote for the same old but Trump talks a good game but doesn't understand what has to be done. Him saying something or trying an executive order will not work.

Iran deal needs to be revoked. Policed will not work as according to the deal they basically say what goes.

Tax system does need to be changed but it takes Congress along with the President to do that. Him alone can not do what he wants.

There is a law about a fence but no one has built it.

Trump gets my vote if he is the nominee because will you have Hillary or Socialist Bernie, but he is very low on my choice for President.

Yes... let's vote the same ole "establishment" politician(s) into the WH.

Bercause you know... it's worked the last few times we've done it.

I'm on the Trump Bandwagon. I hope he wins in the Republican primary, and hope he makes the leap into the WH... because you know, Iran needs to be policed. The southern border needs to be shut down. The corporate tax rate needs to be lowered. Flat-tax or fair-tax needs to be implimented (among the slew of other stuff that he's going to have to address).

Well America has a lot of idiots and people who get caught up in catch phrases. They hear somethign they like and latch on to it. I like what Trump has to say about a lot of stuff but I know he can't do what he says and I question if he really believes what he says.
Give me a person who has taken action like Scott Walker. Don't get me wrong Trump has done a lot business wise but he can't just do what he wants as President.
I don't fault people for latching on to Trump, just want them to look harder at who he is and who the others are. America needs someone in the white house on the right who can get things done.

we've got to do better with the selection process when it comes to Presidential candidates.  We tend to prop up people with questionable character for the highest elected position in the land.  Why?  And if these people have questionable character, why do we allow them to be in office anywhere within government?

Dirty Harry came out and said he lied about Romney when he said, "he didn't win, did he?"  How the hell does a liar like this stay in office?  (For the record, I was not a fan of Romney but the truth should be paramount in situations like running for office of the President.)

I hope the people that support him start dropping off his bandwagon real quick. His non PC talk was good for a bit when it comes to issues like this it should be make or break for true conservatives.

He didn't sound anything close to resembling intelligent when he went on his tirade about contracts....
