We do not live in a time where "free speech" is really free anymore. If you are against something and are part of a major corporation then you get fired. Because "tolerance" does not work both ways.

I meant, disagree with their belief.

THAT is what I know is true.

It only makes you happy if someone gets in trouble for their beliefs if it is a belief you agree with OH.  This I know is true.

Things like this make me happy to be just a little nobody ( as in nobody cares or pays attention to what I do with my tiny bit of the pie)

I have to read it again, but I will agree that if he used his own money.... this should be pretty much a "non-issue".  With that being said, people are all too often scrutinized for what they do on their own time with their own money.

I think its human nature....

I too think it is odd if he used his own money to contribute to something---  that's personal and not related to the company.  Whether anyone agrees with him or not, he shouldn't be penalized in his professional world for contributing in his personal life to something in my opinion.  If there is any type of discrimination going on within the company, that is a different matter, of course.  but his personal beliefs are his to have and support as he sees fit.

I'll have to read the whole link to see if there is more that he did but really, that is ridiculous that someone is fired for a personal donation.

Agreed on him not needing our approval.

I agree with you, on not getting it but in a free country we don't have to agree with him he shouldn't need our approval.

Oh.... he made a donation to an organization that opposes gay marriage.  I think he should be allowed to do such a thing, but I swear all day long.... I don't get it.

No gay marriage anywhere interferes with my life.  I don't see how it can.  I guess I have more important things to worry about.

I heard something about this yesterday on a radio station out of Salt Lake.  From what I understood, this guy made a donation to an organization that sent someone over the edge?

The radio personality kept saying that "militant gays" were in disagreement with what this guy said, and now he is jobless.  I wish I could get the whole story.
