factchecking the republican debate

http://edition.cnn.com/2015/12/15/politics/republican-debate-factcheck/index.html

Now dont take offense because I did the last dem debate as well and they didnt fare well either. The next one is sat night for the dems and we will see if they do any better this time. What I want to know is why they are not held to just the facts and how they are allowed to pander false info.

A friend handed me an article that was on an NPR poll, I think.  30% of republicans polled and 17% of democrats polled were for bombing make believe countries from old Disney movies.

On a similar note, I was listening to a talk radio show out of Salt Lake City, Utah.  It was 'anything goes Friday' but they were stuck on a local issue.  Some guy comes on lamb basting the politician responsible, except... he had the wrong politician.  He was blaming the wrong guy.

This guys vitriol for this politician got in the way of him seeing what actually happened.  I think that is indicative of a lot of the country.  Being constantly lied to and otherwise let down will cause that.  20 years of it and people lose their minds.

"as long as we continue to let the truth slide we will never get what we thought we were voting for."  So very true - how do we get that point across to the politicians that are lying so readily to us?

We should be able to kick them out office as soon as they go back on their word, but that doesn't happen...

I don't like what Bernie Sanders stands for, but at least he doesn't seem to lie about it and pretend to be something he isn't.

Truth means little when it comes to pandering for votes.

So it seems but its troubling when you figure a huge chunk of the voting population gets their facts from these debates. And we wonder how we are all so unhappy about the results of our vote. Because its based on lies and misinformation imo, and as long as we continue to let the truth slide we will never get what we thought we were voting for. Yes, miserable is a good description...Nailed it!

"What I want to know is why they are not held to just the facts and how they are allowed to pander false info."  It's just the nature of politics these days.  Truth means little when it comes to pandering for votes.  These people are miserable.
