Accurancy of DDC results?

Hello!

I've done the non-invasive prenatal paternity test. I'm just wondering if anyone here has done it and what the accurancy been of the results. I have done the test from DDC.
I got tested in week 13 and I am now in week 40, i am due really soon and will take the test again when my baby is born. Even though I got tested, I've been sceptical towards the results I've received (which I am very glad for).

So what my questions are, how accurate are the results? Please help me to be at ease..

We all have our skeletons hun I tested with DDC at about 13 weeks I received an exclusion....
The original author of this post has just confirmed after birth accuracy of her inclusion results I hope it helps

I would have suggested going together for the blood draw but hey at least yours is done..... If you need to  vent or talk I'm all ears (eyes) :)

we have other ladies in our situation as well that occasionally come on here  I think we have two others awaiting to give birth... I myself am due 3/12 If the difference isn't obvious I will be retesting after birth as well.

I'm so glad I found this recent thread. There is so much shame/guilt surrounding these situations sometimes (for me anyway), I'm hoping to find some sort of support from strangers as I haven't told anyone yet. I've been having a long term affair. I've also been on the Nuvaring since 2013. However, I'm currently 10 w 5d pregnant. I happened to have had sex with my husband one night which appears to be near when I ovulated around 11 Oct according to a 28 day cycle. But I had slept with my mister (is that what they're called?) 2 days before and then 2 days after, on top of numerous other encounters. I feel like I know my body fairly well & I note that I ovulated on the 15 Oct. which wouldn't have been a big deal because I had my Nuvaring firmly in place. But on 27 Oct I found out I was pregnant. It was a very faint line but after SIX home tests, I finally accepted it. (Sorry for the long post, I think I needed to confess to someone)
So I paid for the DDC NIPPT and had my blood draw on Monday 7 Dec. My mister is currently out of town and has his scheduled for tomorrow 11 Dec. DDC said the results take 7-10 business days and results are available online same day as they come in. I am really, really hoping the results are accurate because my husband is black and my mister is white. So I'm terrified!

Momtobeej09, do you have any proof that Dr. Choice First really works in any way with the DDC?  The price you named is less than the DDC charges, and the Dr. Choice First website does not name any affiliation with the DDC.

@lampa13 my due date was feb 16 but just got a 4d ultrasound and switched it to feb 8, witch I don't know witch one is most accurate considering the 16th was based on my first ultrasound. But I had sex with the alleged father(that was tested) that was test 2 days before I had sex with guy 2 and they both "pulled out" then I had sex with the alleged father 3 days after guy 2 and he enjected in me .. And the alleged father was my boyfriend for 3 years and we had a break up when this happen over a week.

Yes I also feel that way but I am hoping to read others experiences and to see if it was the same results after the babys born..

@momtobeej09
Hey you should test after your baby is born. When are you due? What company was it? I also did the test through a company which corporates with ddc.

I went threw a company that did the prenatal testing threw DDC , results that were only supposed to take 7-10 took over 2 1/2 months to receive first time they said inconclusive, the second time they could receive an answer so I needed to give more blood and the third time the alleged father needed to give more blood . Needless to say the results came back saying he was not the father.. I am not comfortable with the results because it was such a close situation and the period it took for the results. Can anyone help me with this ? And if I should re test after my son is born?

It is stated that their exclusions are 100% I received an exclusion also from a pull out intercourse that I had tested. I will be retesting afterward if I am doubtful of the results once my baby is here (march 12th)

People haveoccasionally posted back after the baby was born to say their results were correct.  But a forum like this is most compelling to people who are presently worried, not to people who have had their worries solved, so a lot of times they don't post back.  (One has to assume that if the results were proven wrong, we would hear about it.)

A group of women are writing in right now who intend to get a DNA test done after the baby is born to confirm the results of the prenatal tests, but none of that group has had their babies yet and so we won't have posts from them comparing their prenatal and post-natal tests for a while yet.

First of all, thank you very much for your answer.
I do believe that the results are correct, although being pregnant and having these hormones do make me think twice. Even though DDC are a lab that are used for confirmation of paternity tests on Maury show, Dr. phil etc.
Just wondering, is there SOMEONE who got tested during pregnancy by blood and got the same result after the baby was born? Can you please answer me?

Ravgen and the DDC both have excellent reputations in a field where a lot of labs are evidently pretty much charlatans.

Regarding the DDC, on this forum we have had one woman writing in lately who says her results from the DDC exclude the only man she has slept with.  There was some record-keeping issue with the paperwork (I think the mother's information was somehow listed incorrectly.  Her lawyer said about the paperwork,"This mess would never hold up in court.")

Paperwork problems at the intake end might possibly suggest other lab errors at the intake lab, or casualness about checking ID, or some other problem.  If this is what happened, it would not be the DDC doing something wrong but would be the fault of the lab who collected the samples.

We have asked on her threads whether there is the possibility that her boyfriend faked the test in some way to get out of being the father, and she says she doesn't think he would, even though the boyfriend has used this to break up with her and has (tellingly, to me) refused to re-test.

She also has not been treated as well as she would like by the DDC, who seem to be handling her like an upset woman in denial and are clearly not taking her at her word that she never slept with anyone else.  She can't get past the call-center manager to someone who might take her comments more seriously, even though she has hired a lawyer.

That all said, hers is the first and only credible complaint about the DDC (or its affiliates) that I have seen in two years of being the Community Leader for the DNA/Paternity forum here.  We have had a couple of less-credible complaints from posters who vanished immediately after posting, but only this one has the ring of a true story.  Her theory is that the DDC tested the mother's sample in place of the father's, but this seems difficult to comprehend because the lab would need both parents' samples to complete their work, and it would be way sloppier than the DDC usually is, to accidentally run the mother's twice instead of the father's and the mother's..

Anyway, back to your question which seems to be about whether anywhere on the Internet you can find a story that the DDC is not reliable.  I think you might be able to find a few, but not necessarily because the DDC is unreliable.  People can develop any theory they want in order to justify refusing to believe their results, and possibly their theory is correct and possibly it is just wishful thinking or denial.  Any institution run by human beings is occasionally going to have an error, or a flaw in their process that causes a mistake.  The DDC's reputation is very good, and they have every reason for wanting to keep their standards as high as possible.  If you are just having worries of the -- what if, what if, what if -- variety and don't have any real reason for thinking a mistake was made, and if everything lines up with your ultrasounds and due date, I would try to stop fretting.  It sounds like your results are correct, and in any case you will know soon enough.  Try to relax, little mama!

Hey again!
I dont really think we need to worry. I've researched about DDC and their reputation are well. My contact with them are also very realiable. I decided to not make the legal paternity test from DDC but in another lab here in Sweden, because they are worthy in court.
What stories have you read and what were the results regarding non-invasive?
I feel that it is very hard to get a test wrong because of the DNA. DNA are too effective to be wrong results unless the fathers are biological to one another, dont you think?
Can you please let me know about others experiences? Because here, I've only read that the results are correct.
