I spoke to my midwife yesterday about it for the first time, she says the exact same thing as you. It was an irritating worry on my mind but I'm glad to feel a lot better now. Thank you
I don't know any other way to say it than to say that the dates don't stretch far back enough to include the wrong guy.
But is a 12 week gestational age scan early enough to be accurate? Sorry I am a lot more relaxed it's just I had a 4D u/s and my baby's lips look quite large like the guy in October, my boyfriends lips aren't very big in size.. Not tiny but not large! I do have quite full lips but not like the u/s..
Your dates don't stretch back to the guy in October. Try to relax.
Well, "12 weeks gestational age".. Which I guess would actually have made me 10 weeks right? Lol
Hi Annie. You said my scan was a nice early one, my first scan was at 12 weeks? Is this early enough to be accurate?
Honey, even if you had bleeding every single day from October 27 to today, the sono saw and measured your baby. Bleeding is no longer a signal of anything once you have that measurement. Your sono measured the actual embryo and compared it to the size of other embryos and looked in its database and said "this embryo is consistent with the size and development level of other babies that are due in x days." Nothing about bleeding matters at all (except of course if it represents an upcoming miscarriage, but this is not what you are asking about), it doesn't even matter when your last period was, what matters is when you ovulated. When you ovulated and conceived is estimated based on the size and development level of the embryo. Bleed now or bleed never, so what if you can "have periods whilst pregnant" (which is b.s. by the way, if a woman bleeds during pregnancy it is not a period), the sono SAW THE BABY AND MEASURED IT. Count back 266 days from the estimated due date they gave you and that will give you an estimated conception date. If you had had a late ultrasound, say in your 20th week, this number would not be so reliable as babies grow at different rates. But you had a nice, early one. Stop stressing, it's not worth it.
Thanks for answering by the way
But someone told me you can 'have periods whilst pregnant'? But I read somewhere that if you do have a "period" its not like your usual periods, its usually lighter and is shorter.. Mine was 6 days and heavy so I'm okay right?
August 4 due date gives you a conception range of November 7-15, with the strongest possibility of conception date on the 11th. That plus your period being in between means, don't worry about the guy in October.
