Sweetheart, I think I already said that either guy could be the dad, based on your first (and therefore most accurate for dating the pregnancy) ultrasound. If your changing due dates are freaking you out, please go over everything really carefully with the doctor the next time you are in, and ask why they changed.
Sorry to post again but with my due date getting closer I'm getting really nervous. Why would my due date keep getting pushed back by that much if the first ultrasound was accurate? I've heard that in the second trimester it gets a little less accurate but I was still in my second trimester when I got my September 7 and 12 due dates. September 12 is really far off from August 25. Can my baby really be that small? I'm 5'10. Man A is 5'8 and Man B is 6'1 so I wouldn't expect to have a really tiny baby.
Frankly, I would only count on an ultrasound that was done earlier than the end of my 8th week, for dating conception.
Thanks for your help Annie. So the September 7 and September 12 due dates aren't important for figuring out when I conceived since they were both given to me past 12 weeks?
Sorry, Amanda, if all the sex was unprotected, it could be either guy. The first ultrasound is the best for trying to determine a date of conception, since babies grow at different rates and over time the ultrasounds get less and less accurate if a baby is growing more slowly or quickly than normal. Evidently your first ultrasound that gave you a specific date was the one that gave you August 25. (If you were past 11 or 12 weeks by then, there is already a margin for error of a week by that time in pregnancy, but say you weren't when you got the one that said August 25.) An August 25 due date gives the following:
Probable date of ovulation: December 2
Possible dates of conception: November 28 to December 6
Due date: August 25 (40 weeks)
Meaning that sperm from Man B might certainly have been in your system and viable as of November 28 or 29.
The only answer here, and the only fair thing for everyone, is a DNA test.
