Your experience with Ravgen?

Please don't judge, very stressed out. I was with 2 men  back in August 2016 during my fertile window period and found out that I was pregnant in September. Got paternity testing done through Ravgen and it confirmed my long term bf as the potential father. However I have still remained paranoid about the results and I am freaking out as my due date is only few days away. I have not seen many reviews about Ravgen post natal confirmation results online. I called them as well to ask them about false results, one time they said they had only 1 case and another time different employee picked up and said they ve had 3 cases but in all these cases either potential father was related or there was a recent blood transfusion. My boyfriend is very stressed out too. If this baby is not his my life will be over. My mom is coming over in few days to help us out and I am just dreading my baby's birth, my mom's visit, everything. This pregnancy has been a nightmare. I did test both potential fathers through Ravgen. A lot of women on these threads never came back to update their results. Hearing from people who have had experience with Ravgen would help me tremendously. Please help!

Joj, did you see your guy take the second DNA test? Is he someone who wants to be the dad or is he seeming to want out of the responsibility? Because given your history of having had two blood draws and getting a 99% for the guy, and because Ravgen is such a reliable lab, in your shoes I would be CERTAIN the test he took the second time (apparently at the hospital?) is correct and he didn't game the system by having a buddy go in and do a swab for him or something like that.
Big, she also posted a few hours ago about it, saying it has been confirmed that the original test from Ravgen was correct.
Are you saying Ravgen told Joj that they had read her posts here? That's kind of cool, since MedHelp is not a very big forum and this community is very little. But MedHelp is a public forum, anyone could read it. But all this "we know u working with the lab" stuff, forget it. I don't work for a DNA lab.

Honey, nobody is saying you lied. I'm saying you've had DNA tests apparently from Ravgen, the DDC, and the hospital, and they don't agree. You need to figure out which one(s) the wrong one and which the right one. And if you find out Ravgen is the right one and the DDC one is the wrong one, you have to figure out how that happened. And if you find out that the DDC is correct, you have to figure out how that happened and get your money back from Ravgen. Did you ever test with the other guy?
I would like to tell women's out there that the comment I  Made a about ravgen  test results  being  wrong   They weren't wrong ravgen ravgen   Provided me with a dna test  after birth and ravgen  call me and told me the the my test results are right my baby's  Came out to be the father I first test is the father  of my baby's  Now I don't know what to do I have 2 test results from ravgen    Came up the same results that he is a father and one from ddc that  he is not the father   Woman's out there do you know which one I can trust   I'm hoping to get one of the tests that I write but now I don't know what to do
I'm glad to hear you got your test results from Ravgen confirmed.

A good lab like Ravgen or the DDC will not say someone is the dad if he isn't, or if they don't have enough DNA in the sample to tell for sure. If they can't tell, they will say they can't tell rather than say he isn't. Maybe what you got from the DDC was actually a statement like that written in medical language that made it easy to misunderstand. (In other words, not "He for sure isn't the dad," but "We can't confirm that he is.") Anyway, if a lab says a guy is the dad, they very careful to be correct, since they know it would be lawsuit city if they ever named someone as the dad who wasn't. So if you've gotten two results through Ravgen that both say he is the dad, it's certain.

He really want to be the dad but the test results ravgen give me 99.0% there are not right

Test again.
I suggest this because, first of all, the babies are twins and you want to totally rule out any confusion there, and second, you want to rule out mistake or fraud in the second test. Ravgen is a good lab; you want to be a thousand percent sure that when you say their results are wrong, you have perfect proof. You should rule out a lab error in the second test (was it done by the hospital or did you do a home kit? Did you see the guy do the swab and hand it over to the lab tech, or were you not there?) You basically want to be sure of what you are saying when you say your first test was wrong. Ravgen should be notified as well.
Hi, could you explain what happened? Are you saying that the person she thought was the dad was tested by the hospital, with proper proof of identity, and the test came out that he is not the dad of the babies? And that she and the assumed dad then did a legally processed paternity test with the DDC, and again the swabs were handled properly and he provided his ID and all, and the DDC said the babies were not from him?
And you know this because you saw the guy do the swab and hand it to the lab technician?

Can you explain exactly what your question is? You have posted in lots of people's threads that you got certain results, but you don't say what is confusing to you, just that you got these results. What is the issue? Is it that you don't understand your results? Or you just can't stop being nervous even though you got those results?

Also,  if you would like, you can post your question as its own thread in the forum. MedHelp will then email you any time someone posts back. As it is now, the email notifications are going to the women whose threads you have added to, a lot of whom probably aren't writing in any more. There's a button at the top right to click to ask a question in the community.

Are you saying that you don't understand what they said? What they said is, the first time, although the sample from the guy was fine, the sample from you didn't have enough genetic material from the baby in your bloodstream because you were too early in pregnancy for there to be enough present. Then the second time, there was enough genetic material from the baby in your bloodstream, and they were able to locate it. They then tested the DNA in it and in you and in the guy, and could tell that the guy is 99% sure to be the biological father of the baby.

Do your test results was 99.0% that your boyfriend  cannot be excluded as the biological father

If someone's test results say they are 99% sure to be the father, that means they are the father, and those test results do not say otherwise and do not show the guy is not the father.  99% is clear evidence and overcomes anyone trying to exclude him from the role.
I like to ask does someone out that know it I did a non-invasive prenatal paternity test and I having identical twins  can I trust my test results  I test  with Ravgen  because they are the only lab in use that can do the test I did pls one help me
Ravgen is the best in the business. Try to relax, they said the guy you tested is the dad.

I had a great experience with ravgen . It was hell while I was pregnant and I wasn’t sure who the babies father was . I’m so glad I found out about ravgen on Medhelp reading other women’s stories . My daughter is here and they were 100% accurate .

COMMUNITY LEADER
Many MedHelp communities are anxiety-driven.  Someone with a problem is really worried about it, and posts several times (sometimes many, many times) and gets help here.  Then their doctor or their health (or a test) clarifies the answer, and then they simply don't write back.
Essentially, when the solution comes, there goes the desperate need to write. The issue is so over for them that it is not something they even think of revisiting long enough to even post how things went. In 4 years, I have seen perhaps two posts in the public forum from women who have come back and said they got their prenatal test confirmed, and have gotten maybe a max of 5 personal messages reporting that the calendar-based figuring we did was correct.  This is in the contexts of hundreds and hundreds of posts.

It might seem that this is unhelpful, but in fact, it is rather helpful.  If your worst fears were true, you would be seeing a whole boatload of complaints here and elsewhere.  We have had two trolls (or perhaps one person writing under two user names) write in about both top DNA labs claiming they were wrong (unfortunately for the troll, he or she used the identical post each time, so it was pretty easy to see).  But we have had only one seemingly credible report of a wrong result from the DDC, which it appeared likely was due to the man faking his sample, and no credible reports regarding results from Ravgen.

I might also comment on your statement about your life being over if the results were wrong (which, since you wisely tested with both men, it is hard to see how things could be wrong).  If you want to see the depth of human misery, visit the Infertility or Miscarriages communities.  You are so incredibly lucky.  You are going to have a baby.  You have tested with the top lab, and you have tested both men.  Some women in the IVF community have spent a hundred thousand dollars trying to get pregnant, and are still crying into their pillow at night because they can't.  Please rethink your reaction. There will be lots of times as a parent that you will have to live with less than a full guarantee from a top lab that you are right.  There will be times you feel culpable for an error and there is nothing that says nobody will suffer for it.  This comes with being a parent, you have to march on even when you are not sure or feel guilty.  Basically, you have to shoulder the burden of your own fallibility.  Do yourself a favor and stop with this existential demand for an impossible guarantee that is somehow going to erase your sense that you made a mistake.  Life contains plenty of trouble, don't add an unnecessary load to your own shoulders.

Please pray for me, in hospital right now, getting induced, I will come back and post about the results as well so that it can help others, would be able to tell from racial features and baby's blood group at birth.
Congratulations!  (I wish I were having a baby right now.  Love love love that part of my life.  If I could, I would have ten kids.)  I am certain that the best lab in the business did not make a mistake.  Take care!  :)
