Landen's arrival

I posted this in the main forum - but wanted to post it here in case some don't go to the other forum!

I have been so busy with the new baby that I haven't had time to update.  

I went into Labor early Thursday morning  at 1 AM - (12/4) - contractions were so bad that they woke me up.  I labored all day at home and then when DH came home, we ate supper and watched tv - I started having back labor and was leaking fluid (or so I thought) so  we went to the hospital - at about 10 pm - where they sent me home b/c I was only dilated 2cm and was not leaking amniotic fluid - went home where labor was horrible - b/c it was in my back.  Contractions were about every 3 minutes apart - and I kept waking DH up (b/c I was screaming and needed him to rub my back) He did a great job - but about 5 AM he wanted me to call my mom to come and let him take a nap - so I did and my mom came over and sit with me until about 8 am - when I decided I can't stand it any more and went the hospital again -

This time I was dilated 4 cm - and they kept me - I was admited at 9:30 am - Doctor came in at 10:00 - to check me and I was dilated 5 and he broke my water - Epidural kicked in at about 11:30 - and then they checked me again and I was dilated to 8 - They couldn't get his heart rate on the external fetal monitor so the had to do one of the scalp probes on his head - then Landen's heart rate dropped and they had to have me lay on my side and give me oxygen - his heart rate dropped b/c he was laying on his umbilical cord and no longer had the fluid to cushion him.  

Epidural started wearing off about 3:00 pm so I had them increase it (I could handle the contractions, but not the back labor)

Doctor came in at 6:00 pm to check me and he said that I won't have to push but a few times, b/c his head was right there and he said I was having back labor b/c baby was head up - so they used the forceps to flip him and pushed twice and he came out at 6:19 PM on 12/5/08

He is a beautiful baby boy - weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces and 21 1/4 inches long.  He looks just like his daddy!  I have photos posted under my profile.
