What did everyone pack for the hospital

by Keril14, Nov 18, 2008 07:06AM
So I haven't packed my bags yet and wondered what everyone else packed?  Even though i only have 27 days to go I don't feel like I am going to have a baby any time soon.  Don't get me wrong I am very uncomfortable, but I haven't even had one contraction/Braxton Hicks.  Maybe because he is still breech?  I think i will continue to worry about everything until I hold my little guy in my arms =)

well I packed - but was thinking that I was missing something -
let  me know if you think of anything different.

My bag
-outfit to wear home (comfy)
-underwear/bra
-toiletries (toothbrush/paste/hairbrush/deoderant, etc)
-mints
-lotion
-socks
-hair ties
-camera/charger
-video camera
-nursing pillow

DH's Bag
-change of clothes
-sweatpants/tee shirt to sleep in
-toiletries (deoderant/hair gel/etc.)
-snack food

Landen's Bag
-3 outfits (don't know which one will fit) to wear home
-long sleeve  onesie (white)
-short sleeve onsie (white)
-blanket
-pacifier
-diapers
-diaper cream
-alcohol wipes (for circumcision and umbilical cord)

I know I am forgetting stuff, but what?

How about some reading material or music player?  For my bag I also packed my own pads (hospitals have thick ones only I believe) and nursing pads too.  I also packed bibs for my baby and change for DH just in case vending machine was nearby.  Some people like their own pillows but I'm sure we can ask for more if you need them.

Yes - I need to pack some depends (lol) that is what i am going to use instead of the hospital pads- my sister and sis in law swear that they were more comfortable and they felt "cleaner"  reading and music is a good idea too!  Thanks!~

im definitely taking nursing pads and my own pads. those "always" ones have some new brand that are supposed to be good for overnight. Hate the whale ones the hospital gives you.

nursing bra too. I dont want to be leaking everywhere.

I'll probably have DH take his laptop so I can play games or whatever if I want to when in labor.

I have some stuff packed.....definately my own pads and nursing pads being I'm not going to breastfeed and will leak all over....I hate the hospital pads (I work there)..the 'stuff' just sits on top...yuck.  Depends....I've head of those as well......I'm packing my ipod too......Something to distract me....I also read that you should pack 2 bags....one for Labor and Delivery (chapstick, mints, socks, underwear, toothbrush, etc) and then one for postpartum....that way you only have to carry the small bag in when you go and your partner can get the bigger one later......
