DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS COMMUNITY

A little concerned

I have been having constant pain bilaterally in my calves.  Having difficulty driving for more than 20minutes.  I get on my treadmill and most times I have to stop due to cramps in my outer calve area.  I can see two or three 3cm soft bulges and notice large veins protruding from back of lower leg.  I have also been getting frequent hand cramps along with numbness in fingers.  Lastly, I feel I have tightness in my jaws and neck.  Not sure if this if a form of PAD or CVI. Freqently have painfully cold toes.  Any Ideas?????

Hello!

I would suggest you not to continue till you get your condition diagnosed.

This can be due to calf muscle injury or tear, peripheral vascular disorder, deep vein thrombosis etc.

Let an orthopedician examine for any muscle or tendon injuries and if required you can go for an ultrasound and MRI. Your spine also has to be checked for any Degenerative disc diseases.

You would need some blood tests for thyroid functions and fasting blood sugar.

Go for a proper diagnosis and then start workouts.

Take care!

i think you should see a doctor immediately and request for doppler scan on both legs. you could have dvt and at risk for pulmonary embolism if you are not treated. and stop working out for now until you are checked
