Botox for Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy

I am a 15 year old male diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. My neurologist has suggested Botox injections for my arms. I have little to no muscle and my arms are contracted at the elbow. My wish is to have a little more mobility in my arms. I have no mobility in my legs and I am wheelchair/bed bound. Will botox help my arms?

Where is the proposed injections to be given? See you are from Tn. I know there has been a lot of researh done at a clinic in Memphis, I believe. My friends's son had the same and saw a MD that did muscle transplants. I believe they took cell from his brother, grew and transplanted back to pt. Not sure if I can mention MD name or not.  Her son saw some improvement. That was 8-10 years ago and I am sure more pprognosis has been made. My prayers are for success if you decide to pursue.  Madlyn

Hey, I am a 41 year old Woman With Isaac Syndrome Muscular Dystrophy. One year ago I began Botox Treatments as well as Aggressive Physical Therapy. I was not sure what would happen but I received Botox injections in my legs every 3 months and I went from being totally dependent on a wheelchair to walking with Orthotics on both legs and a walker now I am working on walking with assistants of  crutches. Like you I had little to no muscle and Contraction . But mine was in my legs. So I think It is worth a try. My Doctor said It works with some and not so well with others but I am glad I tried It. On other thing My doctor did tell me is there is no guarantee how long it will last. to me any improvement in the quality of my Health is Great.
