Duchenne muscular dystrophy

I have a friend with DMD and he is very overweight.  Has anyone heard of anything someone can do besides portion control to help someone with DMD loose weight?  He only has mobility in his face, neck, wrists, and fingers (he could have more if he weighed less).  Also, his weight is becoming tough for his caregivers to handle.  Thanks.

Hi, I know you may never see this post but here it is anyway.
My brother had DMD and physically suffered in the same way as your friend. I watched your video and my heart just melted. It always strikes me as amazing when I see the spirit of those who are most unfortunate to be born with this hateful disease.
Anyway, there's not much that can be done about the weight of someone who suffers from DMD simply due to the fact that their body can't burn fat and calories like healthy bodies can because there's not enough working muscles.
At the end of the day, as long as he has a great caring family, carers and friends like you who will help him enjoy life to the fullest, there's not much more anyone can ask.
