Finger stiffness and pain

Could you please help.  About two weeks ago the middle finger on my right hand and the digit on the left of it, within the epidermis, developed traces of blood.  This started to the center half of the top part of the finger; then spread towards the side. The fingers itch slightly.  The middle finger has increased in size (it almost seems as if the bone structure has changed and increased in size), the nail bed slightly discolored , almost seems  yellow.  The nail has developed ridges and has not grown.  Please note, the normal shape and size of my fingers are very slender and the top potion of the middle slightly bends towards the left. Now the middle finger mentioned has straightened out and stiff.  I can bend it, but it is painful.  It is obvious that there is liquid gathering under the top layer of the skin - towards the top potion of the finger. I checked out all the different arthritis info, but did not find anything that fits my condition.  What could it be?

Hi...I do not know much about this, but the way u describe ur fingers reminds me of my SIL and she has scleraderma (sp).....all I do know is that it is a connective tissue disorder.

Ask ur dr to consider this when u get checked.....I hope it's not this, but it sounded like the way she describes her condition.
