I have had some extremely weird symptoms lately and my doctor looks at me like I am nuts. All of this has happened progressively over about six months.
Now, I have these awful palpitations all the time. My heart gets to 200 bpm (mostly in the night but it happens during the day too) and my heart feels like it is doing somersaults, I get skipped beats too, and I get an odd premonition of the skipped beats...I sort of get an odd feeling in my forhead, then the beat skips, , then I get a flush feeling in my head, then I burp! I also get feelings like my heart has actually stopped for a second...then it thumps back in with the biggest whoosh which is terrifying. I can almost feel the blood flowing out of the valves.
I have had an abnormal ecg (long qt) normal echo and angiogram. Heart is structurally sound but something is disrupting the electrics big time. am having a holter monitor next week.
I read somewhere I could have got nerve damage from taking a quinolone, which affects the central nervous system, and eventually the cardiac muscle. I have had Cipro for a UTI a few months ago. Doctor thinks I am talking rubbish. If anyone else has these symptoms please tell me at vashti998 at live dot co dot uk thanks
I have nerve damage too and also have the skipped beats sensation plus I used to suffer from panic attacks. My cardilogist diagnosed me with PACs, premature atrial contractions. My heart basically feels like it skips a beat and then the next one is much stronger than normal. I have been told it is usually harmless but I can understand how it can be disconcerting. I don't like the feeling either. = (
Gosh, I can totally relate to you. When you wrote about the numbness and tingling and you felt like you were being shocked by a cattle prod. I had tha same feeling in my head and after a MRI and a really good Dr. he told me I had a kiink in my Ocipital Nerve. I now have nerve blocks that are done at an out patient Surgical Center. The numbness and tingling and electric like shocks to my brain have stopped. I have to go about very 6 months to have the nerve blocks but it is worth it.
I have had the fast heart beat as well and the shipped beat. I just had another Echo and all the DR. at the hospital said was it looked ok. I am going to het a copy of the report. I can't tell you how many times a Dr. has said that( it looks ok) and things were not OK.
Well good luck and don't ever stop trying to find out what is going on. Demand the the truth!!!!!
