Hello. I am 32 yrs old and was diagnosed 2 yrs ago with Degenerative disc disease. Just this past summerSummers eve anti-itch the pain went form manageable to unbearable when I herniatedHerniated nucleus pulposus a disc. I have been seeing my chiropractor 2-3 times a week for decompression treatments and it has gotten ( a bit) better. For the past 2 weeks I have been feeling a LOT of pressurePressure ulcer on my spine and it is beginning to concern me. I am wondering if this could be almost a "side effect" of the decompression or if it is something I need to get further testing on?
Hi goober, I too have DDD but I have never tried decompression nor have I seen a chiropractor..I hope there was no manipulation involved with his treatment?
I don't know what is causing you're increased pressurePressure ulcer but I would certainly see you're doctor and try to find out more.
good luck wish I could be of more help
Hello. Thank you for your response. To answer your question if I have had manipulation with the herniatedHerniated nucleus pulposus disc is yes I have. Is this something that is bad? Please tell if you know the cons of seeing a chiropractor...how do you deal with your DDD? Have you ever had a herniatedHerniated nucleus pulposus disc?
I don't know the cons all I know is certain neurologists sure say they see alot of damage done to spine's???
I also have DDD and a herniated disk and I am really leary abt anyone manipulating in that area, it could so easily cause further nerve compression couldn't it???
thats only my guess but I'm no expert.
To deal with my DDD I take pain medication and do some very light exersises to strengthen the core musles, I also belong to a yoga group that is structured for people with back issues...these all help some, but I still need to be very careful when bending or doing any lifting, I try to avoid these as much as possible.
I see a rehab Dr. occassionally in the city since I also have bursitis of the hips I am recieving cortisone shots..(1st one only helped for few weeks)
He also recommended RADIO FREQUENCY ABULATION...may have some spelling wrong here?...
I was considering trying this until I did some research and asking questions on the NEUROLOGY FORUM...since than I have reconsidered many who have had this are is same or worse pain than before.
Do you see a neurologist or orthopedic doctor? who manages you're condition for you?
I have DDD in my whole spine and have tried the compression and manulipation which I feel did more damage then good! I am in constant pain and nothing has ever seemed to help. I welcome any advice. Thanks
hi rella sorry to hear you're not finding any relief...there are really few reliable methods for improvements are there...
just wanted to ask you if you are taking anything for the pain as that seems to be all we can achieve 'pain control'
you may want to check out the PAIN MANAGEMENT FORUM they have given me alot of good advice and information on this subject there.
good luck
