Is this really an advanced dementia diagnosis?
CT brain scan with these findings and impressions. We found that my sister had severe periodontal disease after this CT was taken.
Findings: There is no bleed, midline shift, nor mas effect. The ventricles and sulci are mildly proportionately dilated. Periventricular hyperdensities are noted. There is a 6.7 x 6.3 mm calcification along the right frontoparietal convexity. The visualized paranasal sinuses demonstrate minimal mucosal thickening of the ethmold sinuses. The mastoid air cells are clear.
Impression:
1 No bleed, midline shift, nor mass effect or fracture.
2 Dural calcification versus meningioma of the right frontoparietal convexity.
3 Mild atrophy with chronic small vessel ischemic changes.
4 Minimal ethmoid sinus disease.
