Root Canal Problem

I had a root canal last year and never got the crown put on. Today i was eating and i felt like a tooth was loose. I had my husband to see it anything was loose and he stated that the filling that was put in after the root canal was loose and about to come out. About 15 minutes later it came out. Besides getting back to the dentist what will happen to my tooth until I get to the dentist

You can purchase a temporary filling material in your local pharmacy and put it in.  Hopefully there's nothing wrong with the tooth and a crown can be put on if needed.
