2 extra teeth

I have braces and I have been having tooth pain. I went to the dentist and they found out that an extra tooth is growing in an xray in my gum in a spot where my teeth are trying to close a gap. I had had a tooth pulled out of that spot before I got braces. I have all my adult teeth as well and am 17 years old. They also found an extra tooth growing in my bottom teeth on the right side. Is this normal? Also, they said they would probably have to remove it by oral surgery. Does that mean they are going to have to cut my gum on the top and bottom and take the little piece of tooth out?

yes alot of people have extra teeth ... i had 8 extra teeth and they had to be removed b4 i got my braces on as well.... its called supernumerary teeth....its actually very common....

yea oral surgery will be them prolly putting you to sleep for an hour and cutting the impacted tooth out.... dont worry you will be sleeping and wont feel anything... just make sure you take care of it after to prevent infection.....

you get teeth until the age 21... you might have started getting your wisdon or 3rd molars cause they start coming in from 17--21

I just found out at age 54 that I too, have an extra tooth on the bottom front.  I have some bite issues, but dentist told me "it seems to be working for you", so not all extra teeth have to be pulled.

Hang in there.  You are young and it will be OK

I don't think this is normal, but I've heard stories of extra teeth so I guess it happens occasionally. And yes, they will have to cut your gum to remove the extra teeth. Good Luck.
