7 Root Canals after Cosmetic Crowns!

by honky, Jul 27, 2005 12:00AM
Hope you can help.  I had upper teeth crowned due to worn teeth last year. Dentist really messed up my mouth and I ended up having to have 7 root canals and of course all the crowns replaced hopefully by a reputable dentist.  However I am still having terrible gum problems and my general health has deteriorated.  I am constantly tired and feel sick and ill.  Can root canal cause immune system problems?  Grateful for your help.

I would be concerned that the gum problems are symtomatic of a health problem. I think you should see your M.D. If that proves to be negative I would suggest you see your dentist or a periodontist. I do not think the root canal therapy that you had is the cause of your health problems.

I don't think that root canals can affect your body. Root canals kill the nerve under your tooth so you won't feel pain there. (usually before you recieve a cap, crown, etc.)
