A I ok?

A I ok?

Back in March 2007, I experienced pain in the upper right side of my mouth, where there is a four crown bridge, starting with the canine as the abutment on one side, and a molar on the other.  (The actual pain was in a molar to begin with, but later, moved on to the canine)

I went to my dentist, he took an xray and adjusted the bite.  He did not put me on antibiotics, because no infection was apparent and could mask the infection.

Eventually, though, the pain centered in the canine, I was put on antibiotics, and on April 16, 2007, the endodontist did a root canal through the canine crown.  The crown was eventually repaired with a post and restoration.

It is the end of May.  It still feels odd.  Tender, just not right, and sometimes, the a sharp pain is experienced if I push on the area directly above it.

Worse case scenario, is the tooth cracked, will my bridge need removed, what can I anticipate?  I go back to the endo on Monday...

It is possible that the infection has not cleared up as of now, this does not mean that the tooth will be lost.As far as a fracture, it is possible but  your dentist would have to diagnose that scenario. The bridge would not have to be removed at this point unless the root was fractured or it became loose.I think the visit to the endodontist is the correct thing to do.
