A question about Trigeminal neuralgia

A question about Trigeminal neuralgia

Hi
My name is Sharon, 38 years of age.
3 years ago, I have had teeth wisdom removal. During the procedure the mandibular nerve ( in the left bottom side in my mouth - teeth no 37 )
was damaged badly- I need to take very strong medicines
and still suffer from pain, burn, lack of taste etc.
Recently, I started to feel strong pain attacks above the upper lip ( under the nose ). and was diagnosed as trigeminal neuralgia
My question is :
Could  it be that mandibular nerve damage can develop tp TN?

Traumatic trigeminal neuropathy is generally not associated with trigeminal neuralgia. However, both entities may be responsive to pharmacologic intervention. Seeing a neurologist or orofacial pain specialist misadvised.

It is highly unlikely that drug or medication can provoke trigeminal neuralgia. What I really meant was some medications such as tegretol, anticonvulsants, for example, neuron tin are very promising to treat trigeminal neuralgia. In addition, surgical procedure known as microvascular decompression is promising and yields long term therapeutic effect. you do need to see a neurologist to be fully informed of all available treatment options.

Hi again,
I was consulting with a pain doctor and she said that the raumatic trigeminal neuropathy  is actually TN type 2.Now I have TN of type 1 (Classic ) in different nerve ( maxillary ) when type 1 is on mandibular nerve. Have you heard about a case like this ??
