Abcessed tooth #2

I have had a bad tooth in the upper left rear of mouth. Not a lot of pain altho eating can start it but its manageable. Ive had to pop my own pus pockets on gum...sum small sum big. Awoke to swollen cheek..not real bad but feels a little heavy but no pain thank goodness. The big question is that years ago i was in hospital for abcessed tooth that caused my airway to swell.....if this happened once then am i higher risk for #2?? I Havent gone to dentist cz no insurance, no $ for scripts either....

You're better off getting that tooth pulled...as you've stated you ended up in the hospital once already.
Without proper care you're going to get VERY sick! The hospital bill will probably be considerably more than a dentist visit.
The abscess CAN spread to other teeth as well.

In case you need further prompting to see the dentist, look up Septicemia.

My dad just passed away from septicemia.

Not saying you have it or will get it, but it IS very possible to get this from an abscessed tooth.
Tooth abscess can cause the death of the tooth and it can literally be the death of you. Never leave tooth abscess to it's own end and where-ever possible, get to a dentist ASAP. Remember, infection can spread and affect the heart and it literally eats into the soft facial bones. Not something to fool around with.

In the meantime, until you can get to a dentist, at least use Strepsil lozenges...they will help short term, but you still need antibiotics.

Perhaps you could call around and see if there are any local programs or government assistance that can help you.
