Abscessed tooth swelling in right cheek

Ok I have been trying to reduce the swelling by using a heating pad and using warm salt water. I am on a antibiotic ( penicillin) the severe pain has stopped witch is great but the pressure pain and swelling sill resides it has gone down some from the use of the salt water and holding the heating pad to my right side of my face where it is at at night when I sleep. I can't afford any dental work due to myself not having any health insurance and I currently am out of work. My question is should I continue to do what I am doing or is this making the situation worse?.

If it is working for your, then carry on with what you are doing.

Don't know if a cold compress may help better than the heat.

Continue with the antibiotic until you finish the course.

Still wash your teeth in the morning and before going to bed and floss in between once a day.

Best wishes.
