After Wisdomteeth pain...

So I just want to be sure this is normal...
I had all 4 Wisdom teeth removed on friday, and all seemed to go well, I didnt get too much pain or swelling, but I have been taking 2 panadine forte and then 3 hours later 2 nurofe 3 hours later panadine forte ect...

i'm now on day 3... and the pain is outdoing the painkillers... usualy about 1.5 hours or 2 hours after taking the panadine forte the pain is already back and realy realy saw... kinda feel like my whole jaw is throbbing...

they did say that the pain can sometimes peak on day 3 or 4... is this what they mean? or is this unusual?

I asume the first questions will be about dry sockets.. I dont realy know what one is, but i cnat see any bone showing, and yes there is a tast/smell but i had asumed that to be normal coz i have had it since they were done.

I contacted my dentist, they told me its just bone pain...
They did not give me the option to go in for them to look at it...
They said its simply the pain from where they had to cut into the jaw bone to extract the teeth.
I'm a little worryed, should i confront them about the possibility of it being a dry socket?

A dry socket is when the blood clot that is forming in the socket comes out or dissolves for some reason---smoking, sucking through a straw, etc.  and leaves the bone in the socket exposed.  It is very painful.  Your dentist can pack a dressing with some medicine in the socket to help with the pain--it may have to be done a couple of times.

What you have described is classic of dry sockets.  Get back in to see your dentist - they can pack the area with a dressing that will help.
