All 4 wisdom teeth out, healing question

by lolikitty, Jun 14, 2009 11:23PM
Hi, I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out last Monday. I've been healing normally and the swelling has gone down to a point where its barely visible. Yesterday I noticed a brownish tan thing coming from the hole of one of my bottom holes and I noticed that when I bite down I would accidentally bite onto it because it would be on my nearest tooth and I could move it off with my tongue. I tried to ignore it and hope that it was normal and would take care of itself on its own but today its gotten bigger and when I moved it slightly I could see that its coming from the inside of the hole. I'm wondering if its the blood clot and slightly worried that if it is and it falls out that I'll get dry socket. The other hole on the bottom has skin growing over the hole and looks entirely different from this one, I don't see any brownish tan things there. I'm moving on the 17th to another state so I'll be unable to see my dentist after that few days so I'm trying to find out if this is normal or not before I leave.

I'm not sure what it is.  Is it possible its a suture that was placed after the extraction?  Normally the area will heal with collagen but it won't grow on top of your teeth.  It'll normally stay in the socket and the gums will grow over the area.
