Hello,
I had wisdom extractions in feb 09 using
carbocaineCarbocaine hcl. The days following the procedure the lower right side of my
faceFace pain stayed numb and in pain. There was a knot in my cheek on my jaw line. (Lower Right side).
I went back to the dentist concerned i had an infection or something "in my socket". The dentist said the anesthetic sometimes takes longer in some people to wear off. I was still concerned bc it felt numb/sore for a while.
I started to feel some tenderness in the lower right side of my mouth last week (June 09) and scheduled a dentist appointment to have it checked out. I had a "puss pocket" or "

What could this be? I thought i was allergic to novacaine, but the dentist were not using novacaine. They used a lighter anesthetic than lidocaine (which i was suppose to be non allergic to). HOWEVER, KEEP IN MIND I HAD ALL 4 WISDOM TEETH EXTRACTED AT THE SAME TIME AND ONLY THE LOWER RIGHT SIDE OF MY MOUTH HAS HAD THIS ADVERSE EFFECT. MY DENTIST AND I ARE AT A LOSS. HOW DO I KNOW WHICH ANESTHETIC I AM ABLE TO USE NEXT TIME???
