Another wisdom tooth question

OK. the saga of my mouth continues

About 11 days ago, I had my No. 1 wisdom tooth pulled.
It had a pretty nasty cavity I had let progress for awhile before I got it pulled. So much so, the lymph node on the opposite side of my head near my jawline swelled up and stayed swelled until I had the tooth pulled. (It went down almost immediately afterwards.)

I had some complications, which the Dr. and I figured it was a sinus infection caused by a communication between my sinus and my mouth (there was some bone attached to the root when it was pulled out).  He refilled my amoxicillin and motrin scripts, told me to get a saline nasal spray and start taking sudafed to clear out the congestion.
It worked wonders, so much so, that by the time I saw him for another follow up appointment (last Friday) everything seemed to be going well. He removed the sutures which hadn't dissolved and I was on my way. Just keep taking the medicine.

Friday night however, I began experiencing a considerable amount of pressure in my sinus cavity and congestion bad enough to stop me from breathing in through my nose, although my nostrils are extremely dry (It feels like I have post nasal drip though.) I can't step down hard (think walking down stairs) or swing my head around because the pressure is so bad sometimes. The pressure also comes with some pressure/popping in my ear when I swallow. Every time I swallow, unless I am drinking a mouthful of liquid.

Could this be the infection coming back? The communication healing? Or something else? This is really getting to be a pain.

It sounds like you had a communication with the maxillary sinus at the time of the extraction. If you are having these symptoms I think you should be seen by your dentist or an oral surgeon.
