Are electric toothbrushes safe to use on gingivitis

I received an Oral-B electric toothbrush as a present. I've been using it for about a week along with regular flossing and my mouth feels clean, but when I use it in the back of my mouth, where I have my gums are sensitive, it causes mild discomfort. The electric toothbrush seems a little rough on the gums. Do your gums toughen, and adapt to the use of the electric toothbrush, and can it really improve gingivitis?

I think that the electric toothbrush has its place in good oral hygiene.Check the settings on the brush and go a little easier. There is also the possibility that there is some inflammation in the posterior teeth that might account for the discomfort. With flossing and the correct method of toothbrushing you should do very well. Good luck and have a happy new year.If the sensitivity persists then see your dentist to check it out.
