BROKEN TOOTH

1 of my front teeth is broken from the middle.now it is half teeth.What r the things that I can do now?I hav read that making an artifcial teeth with paste and then fixing in the broken part is possible.Also a method to make a crown to teeth.But this crowning needs heavy trimming of teeth.Will it do bad in future?
   once my tooth was trimmed a little to adjust shape.After that i felt a type of 'chilling effect' in the trimmed part.What may be this.Lost the enamel part?If yes what can i do to restore or cure it?For the purpose  of knowledge--what is the thickness of enamel and what r the conditions that kill enamel.

Depending how much tooth structure is present, the tooth can either be bonded, a porcelain laminate, or a crown can be placed. Each one has its' place and that depends on the clinical judgement of your dentist. The senitivity that you felt is indicative of sensitive part (dentin)of the tooth being exposed.This indicates that the tooth seems to be healthy. The thickness of enamel at its widest point is 2.5 millimeters, if the tooth is not abraded.
