Bilateral dry socket treatments not working

Hi all I'm ten days post surgery for my wisdom teeth I'm a 31 year old male smoker (have only smoked once since my surgery). I presented symptoms of dry socket 3 days post op.. My OS gave a packet and irrigated the dry sockets and I have been back twice for dressing changes and had a refill on the oxycodone. The pain has been intense as described by many posts I've read. My pain goes from deep in the socket the radiates to the jaw muscles and finally my temples giving a long and throbbing head ache. As of tonight I have run out of both pain meds. I have been taking the oxycodone 325 and alternating with ibprofen 600 I have been using cove oil and it only gives relief for 30 mins at a time. The pain is bad enough my wife wants me to go to the ER. I'm posting this at 4 am I have a appointment to have the packets changed at 11 am. I'm not sure if I'm just venting or if something is really wrong! Should I ask for a stronger pain med and even more importantly why should I be in this much pain as to need to ask for more in the first place? I'm sick of the constant pain thank god I'm using my two weeks vacation for this otherwise I'm not sure what I'd do. Does anyone know whats going on or am I just a huge wimp?

in your case you can have a strong analgesics and can ask your doctor to administer a long acting dental anesthetics like bupivacaine blocks that may afford relief and allow you to sleep.
