Blood in mouth in morning

Have a small amount of blood coated on tongue & in my mouth 1st thing in morning - no other time.  Cough sputum up from chest & this is normal color.  Was to dentist in March advised hygenist that I had some bleeding under a small bridge in my mouth - she advised I use water pik on it more - so I did - blood seemed to stop somewhat - but now bleeding again & blood now in the morning which I never had before - is this a dental problem or something else?
I'm going back to dentist this week.

It appears to be a spontaneous bleeding problem. Seeing a periodontist and hematologist is advised.
