Bone graft after failed implant

Bone graft after failed implant

2.5 weeks ago, I have had an implant put in place of my second molar on the left top side. A week later, the checkup showed that everything was fine. Two weeks after the installation, the implant appears to have failed, possibly due to infection, so the dentist took it out and filled the cavity in with a collagen membrane, artificial bone fragments, covered it with another collagen membrane and stitched it up. Within 40 hours, the stitches dissolved, and the collagen membrane fell out, exposing the bone fragments and causing the loss of some of them. The dentist cleaned out the site, put in more bone fragments, another collagen membrane and stitched it up again. He also prescribed antibiotics which I started taking within 2 hours of the last procedure.

It is now 30 hours after the last procedure and it feels that the stitches have partially dissolved, once more exposing the collagen membrane. Why is this happening? I was told the stitches should take 5-7 days to dissolve, not 1 or 2. If I keep the site clean, will it heal with the bone fragments exposed, or do I need more stitches put in again?

It has been hell going through this. I'm 4 months postpartum and breastfeeding, which limits the amount and strength of painkillers I can take, and the recovery from these procedures has been extremely painful. I am trying to do everything I can to assist healing - including echinacea, aloe, salt water (not vigorously rinsing), and being extremely careful not to put pressure on the left side, but it appears that I have no chance to heal since the stitches dissolve so rapidly. Is there anything I can do?
