Bony Protrusions on Inner Jaw

Bony Protrusions on Inner Jaw

Hi, I had 3 wisdom teeth removed 11 years ago (1 top, 2 bottom). A few days ago I noticed soreness in the lower left molar area and after testing where the pain could be coming from, I noticed two bony protrusions that have broken through the gums. They are under the gum line and on the medial part of the jaw, where the bottom wisdom teeth would be. The protrusions feel like half of a molar coming through and they are also sensitive to touch (the bone is). And upon writing this, I notice the same situation on the other side (not as much pain, one bump, and not completely broken through the gums) adjacent medial jaw/wisdom tooth area. Any ideas of what this could be?

P.S.- The bone shards from the surgery made their way out many moons ago.

Thank you

Ya, I would assume that after 11 years, the bone shards should have been expelled months, not years after the extraction.

I'm not sure what it may be.  You may be the exception to the rule to bone shards.  I would recommend going to a dentist or an oral surgeon to get the area checked out.
