Broken tooth-What to do?

I was at the dentist last week and was told I needed to get a new filling in my tooth.  The dentist told me to wait and that he would do it when he set my new crown.  This will not be until April.

Two days ago, I was flossing and noticed I could not pull the floss up through the wedge between my teeth (same area I need the new filling) and so I had to pull it out.  Yesterday, I was flossing and part of the tooth broke off.  Now, the floss goes in so easily it is like the teeth are no longer touching.  When I eat, the gum around that tooth is sore, like the food is jabbing into the gum.  My question is... Do I still wait until April or should I go in sooner?

You should go in now.  That area is just going to become a food trap, which is going to cause a lot of gum irritation.
