Bump in jaw after Root Canal

Bump in jaw after Root Canal

Hi, I had a root canal done on the lower left side of my mouth, on the very last tooth (wisdom teeth have been extracted for years now). After the root canal, my cheek was swollen, particularly the spot where the root canal was done. It's been over a year now, and my cheek is still swollen. It does not hurt at all, but it is swollen, enough to be noticeably different from the other side of my face. I asked my dentist but he didn't seem concerned. Any ideas what it could be? And what I should do?

Thank you for your time! God bless!

I'm not sure.  They may want to take an extra or do a biopsy of the swelling to really find out what it is.  It may not have to do with the root canal but it may be the crown's fault if there was a crown placed on it.  Luckily its symptom free so thats good.  I would go get it checked out anyways since it is an unusual symptom and its best to find out whats causing it.  You can discuss with your dentist abiout a referral to an oral surgeon.
