Burning or chapped tongue

by rustingim, Jun 09, 2009 04:22AM
What has caused my tongue to feel like its burning or chapped? IAt times I feel bumps on the side or toward the tip of my tongue, so I try biting down on the bumps or squeezing them with my finger, which of course just worsens the condition. I have tried peroxide, salt water which relieves it some.

Two common causes of burning tongue is an allergic reaction or dry mouth.  Are you taking any medications?  Does your mouth ever feel dry?   Do you ever have problems eating, speaking, or swollowing without liquid help?
When did this problem start?  Did you change any foods, toothpastes, mouthwashes around that time?
