I broke my lower leg (small bone) just above the ankle 20 months ago.  I have now fully recovered with no side effects.  My doctor told me not to see  a dentist until one year after my surgery and then prescribed me to take amoxicillan immediately before visiting the doctor.  I did this at my one year anniversary of surgery and again at my 18 month anniversary (i.e. prior to dental teeth cleaning).  QUESTION: How long do I need to continue taking amoxicillan before dental appointments - forever?

This is definitely a question for your doctor/dentist. I've personally never heard of anyone having to pre-medicate for a dental visit because of a long healed broken leg.

I must pre-medicate before a dental procedure due to a heart condition.

I'd sure be looking for an answers on this one!
Peace
