Canker sores and earache?

For the past week I have had a really sore canker in the back of my mouth.  I think it is from my wisdom teeth that are just coming in.  My wisdom teeth tend to catch my cheek when I eat.  I have also had an earache for the past few days on the same side as the canker sore.  Could this be related?  Should I be seeing my dentist about this? I have had canker sores before but not with an earache too.  Is there something I can do to relieve the pain?  I have tried Tylenol, decongestants, and a heating pad but it doesn't seem to be helping.  Any ideas?

Go get it checked out by a dentist.  It may be something more than a canker sore.  It might be an infection or a cavity thats causing the problem with the ear pain.  Its what we call referred pain where there's a cause of pain in one spot but it can "jump" to another area as well even though that area is perfectly healthy.
