Can't get my husband to brush teeth!!!!

by Kici, Jun 11, 2008 10:21PM
I have tried everything to get my husband to take better care of his teeth. He can go months without brushing them. He drinks very little water if any at all. He drinks large amounts of surgary sodas and juices. His teeth have begun to become rotten at the root. He doesn't complain of pain to me because he knows I will only tell him to go to the dentist. Also for the past year and a half I have noticed that he has begun to smell really bad. I don't know if that is related to the teeth decaying. If he is in a room for more than ten minutes he leaves a smell that smells like sewage. The smell has taken over our bedroom and has led me to consider sleeping elsewhere because it is so bad. He also coughs a lot and complains of chest pain. What can this be and is it related?

If he is not willing to maintein personal oral hygiene, perhaps seeing a psychiatrist is helpful.
