Chipped front tooth in back

Chipped front tooth in back

I noticed for the past few years that my gums have been receeding on my front 2 bottom teeth.  2 days ago the back of my left tooth chipped off at the base.  There is no pain and it is not loose yet.  My main question is, is there any way to save the 2 bottom front teeth or should I have them pulled and have a partial put in place. I am in my 30s if that helps at all. Thanks for your help.

I would like you to save the teeth and avoid having to wear a removal partial denture at your age. I can not give you an opinion without seeing the teeth.

Lower anterior incisors don't typically chip at their bases.  What you might have experienced is possible a chunk of tartar separating from the area.  Tartar tends to build up there, contributing to gum recession, and if enough builds up, a piece may come off making you think it was a part of the tooth when it actually wasn't.  I would recommend seeing a dentist to have a check-up to find out more.

Thank you both for your information.  I will find a dentist and get to him/her as soon as I can.  Thank you very much.
