Chronic Flosser

Chronic Flosser

I floss at least two times a day, so I generally don't have any worries about gum disease.  However, I do have an area surrounding one particular tooth that is causing me some concern.  People often notice the smell of rotting food when they don't floss often.  This is to be expected.  However, in my case, I floss at least twice daily, sometimes more.  But in-between flossings, I notice this same rotting food smell/taste in my mouth.  When I floss, the smell is ALWAYS coming from the area in between my very last and second-to-last molar on the upper-right side.  The only significance about this area that I am aware of, is that I have an exposed root on my very last molar.  This causes discomfort when I chew and floss, but I don't let this stop me from flossing very adequately.  I even find myself excessively flossing this same spot over and over trying to rid myself of the smell.  I'm beginning to think it's hopeless.  I plan on visiting my dentist soon, but was wondering if I'm just worrying too much.

Thank you in advance for any professional advice you can give.
