Countinuos pain after Crowns (for years)

by tamf, Nov 05, 2009 09:16AM
I had two molars with big and old silver fillings and the dentist suggested to get crowns instead of replacing the fillings.

The molars are next to each other on the right side and I got the crowns September 2007.  Since then I have not been able to bite on my right side.  I have been back to dentist several times he checked for nerve damage but that was ok.  He had adjusted my bite several times and it feel better for a few days but it starts again.

The last bite adjustment was 3 weeks ago and now I am in pain even when I am not eating.  I don't know what to do.  Go to another dentist?  Have the crowns removed?  I am tired of dealing with this and of course there is always the big bill for the bite adjustment.

Thanks for the help!

Your descriptions suggest that your current dentist can not solve bite problem associated with new crowns. Seeing an occlusionist or prosthodontist is advised.
