Crown not fitting right.

Crown not fitting right.

My dentist, who up until now seemed quite good, seemed a little rushed to put on my permanent crown. My rear molars never came in contact with each other previously. By the end of the tooth, the top was level with the gums. The new crown sticks down quite a bit (slightly farther than the tooth ahead) now. It doesn't cause any specific issues with my bite..

The top of the crown is lumpy while the tops of my teeth are sharp. I think this is due to the grinding to prevent bite issues.

The two problems are these:

1) My cheeks normally sit in the gap between my rear molars. Now that there is no gap I am shredding my cheek. I warned my dentist before he cemented the tooth, and he said I'd get "used to it."
It no longer traps my cheek, but still pinches it. Will this issue just "go away?"

2) IT isn't sat like my previous tooth or shaped exactly like it. This is more a superficial problem than anything but... shouldn't it be at least 95% similar?

thank you
